The Allen Family

This beautiful family and I spent an afternoon back in November at Highbanks Metro Park. It was a beautiful day, although we were fearful of rain for a while. We just took some time to explore the area, enjoy the beautiful fall colors, & have some fun. I've grown to love these guys, and have had many other opportunities to spend time with them. Hopefully, this will continue into the future :]

I hope everyone had a spectacular holiday with family and friends. I know I couldn't get enough of all the delicious food that was passed my way. Best wishes to you and yours for the New Year! Here's to 2009!

Cousins

Every year my aunt asks me to take another set of portraits of my three cousins. It's one of my favorite sessions to shoot because they are so much fun & I always manage to get some very great, moody shots. We find some eclectic place to shoot, and just see what happens. Because it was like 18 degrees outside, we shot very fast and they were very cold, haha. I thought my fingers were going to fall off. My cousin, Jordan, brought along her boyfriend- so of course I had to get shots of them together too!

Happy Holidays to you and your family! I'm praying for a white christmas [especially since it's so cold] but it doesn't look like its going to happen.

Sister Love

Jessy and Katey are two sisters that I have had the pleasure of growing up with. These two girls and their families are some of the greatest people that I've met in my life! If you ever need a laugh, a smile, or a pat on the back- they would be there to do it, and I love them for that :]

I've used them all throughout my education as models for projects, so we decided to go to Blue Limestone Park [battling snow and freezing temperatures] in Delaware, Ohio. We would shoot for minutes, get in the car for five. Shoot for ten, car for five. Lol. Here are some of my favorites from the session!

And Happy Birthday to my mini-me :] Taylor, you are 15! That makes me feel so old.

My Crazy Cavestri Girls!

I had a tonsillectomy on Wednesday of last week, and it's just now that I'm starting to feel better. I figured since I was up and going again, I might as well post an update with some photos that I've shot recently.

These are The Cavestri Girls! Very near and dear to my heart, these three girls have been the subjects of my lens for a couple years now. Around every fall we shoot new pictures of them together for their friends and family for Christmas :] They are up for anything & always have smiles on their faces!

Thanks girls, you are amazing.

Inspiration

So I couldn't settle without posting another entry with some photos. It doesn't seem right to start a photo blog, and not post any images [Haha.] SO- I thought that I would show you one of my last projects that I turned in for one of my courses at CCAD.

My professor suggested that I go out and just shoot. No plans, no styling, oh a whim. And I found the experience to be very refreshing and inspiring. I went into a cornfield, sat down- barely directing my model, and just shot what I saw. Let me tell you, if you are ever in a "funk" with your camera and just can't find the right inspiration or get lost- go out and do this!! It brings you back to earth, you find your strengths/weakness, and you get some cool photos out of it.

It's like when we were children, we had all the hopes and dreams in the world- and every free day to find them without worry. You will go back to basics of your medium and just have fun.

Here's a little of what I captured! :]

It's always nice to remember what you are capable of and take a step back and look at what you've been doing to make changes. Hopefully you'll find your inspiration soon!

Starting a blog, Starting a new chapter...

I can't believe I can say that I've finished my degree, a BFA in Photography. It seems like just yesterday I began my journey down this road- & now it's over! I'm so excited to start this new chapter in my life, and I thought I'd begin by creating a blog to chronologically organize some of the images I am about to create, and most importantly bring those images to you :]

There is nothing more important than networking & keeping in touch with photographers around the world while creating photographs and gathering clientele, so this will be my first step in that process. If you are a photographer or a photography fan and feel like bookmarking my blog, please do so! I will be posting tons of images, adventures, battles, & successes and hopefully we can share some of our experiences as professionals.

I look forward to meeting you all & starting a new relationship here on the www :]
